Local-first, and we don't look at your streams
- The Qelvue apps keep your library, profiles, settings and playback progress in storage on your own device.
- Qelvue does not provide, host or sell video streams. Video plays from sources you add.
- Qelvue does not inspect the contents of the video you play.
Who is responsible for your information?
Qelvue is operated by [Owner must provide: legal entity or responsible person], located at [Owner must provide: address or registered location]. For privacy questions or requests, contact [Owner must provide: privacy contact email or contact form].
For the Qelvue website and any centrally operated Qelvue accounts or services, the responsible organisation is [Owner must provide: confirm controller and whether a hosted account service exists].
Qelvue MediaHub can be installed and operated by different people or organisations. When you connect to a self-hosted Qelvue MediaHub, information used by that server is processed by the operator of that server. Check with that operator about its privacy practices.
Information the service may process
Depending on how you use Qelvue and which services you connect, the software may process:
- Account and sign-in information needed to create and secure an account.
- Household profiles and profile settings, including names, avatars, age or content settings, and parental controls.
- Library, favourites, watchlists and playback progress, for continue-watching and cross-device progress.
- Watch Together session information — the session, participants, selected title and playback state — when you use that feature.
- Forum content, profile names, and moderation or abuse reports, if the forum is enabled.
- Add-on selections, configuration, and service credentials that you choose to provide.
- Media source, server connection and device information needed for playback and setup.
- Technical logs and diagnostic information generated by the service.
Why information is used
- Creating and securing accounts and profiles.
- Providing library, search, playback, watch-history and synchronisation features you request.
- Operating add-ons, forum features and Watch Together sessions that you choose to use.
- Maintaining and securing the service, diagnosing failures, and responding to support or abuse reports.
- Meeting legal obligations where applicable.
Legal basis for each purpose: [Owner must provide: legal basis per purpose and any consent-based processing].
Where information is stored and who receives it
For a self-hosted Qelvue MediaHub, account, profile, library and playback information may be stored on the server and storage configured by that installation's operator. That operator controls the deployment, backups, access and retention settings.
Information may also be sent to a service you choose to connect, such as a media server, add-on, metadata provider, subtitle service or other provider. Those services operate under their own terms and privacy notices. Third-party services and hosting providers: [Owner must provide: verified third-party services and subprocessors].
Network routing depends on your configuration; by default video plays directly from your source to your device.
Cookies and local storage
The service may use essential browser storage or session cookies to sign you in, remember settings and run the app. [Owner must provide: exact cookies, local storage, purposes, duration, and any non-essential analytics]
Fonts and Google. Every page of this website, including the web player at/app, loads its typefaces from Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com). Your browser makes that request when the page loads, so Google receives your IP address, the file it served and the page you were on. No account detail, library item or viewing history is sent with it. This is a transfer to a third party that exists only so the site can use those fonts; self-hosting the font files would remove it, and that change is not made yet.
Retention and deletion
Information is kept for [Owner must provide: retention periods per category]. Retention may differ between the website, a self-hosted MediaHub, backups, logs and third-party services.
You can [Owner must provide: account/profile deletion and data-request method].
Your choices and privacy rights
Depending on where you live and which service operates your account, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or receive a copy of certain personal information, and to withdraw consent where processing relies on consent. Contact [Owner must provide: privacy contact and request procedure].
If a self-hosted server operator controls the information, contact that operator.
Children and household profiles
Household profiles and parental controls are product features; they do not by themselves make an account suitable for children or satisfy every child-privacy law. [Owner must provide: age requirements, guardian rules and any child-specific processing]
Security
We use security measures appropriate to the service and keep improving them. No service or transmission method is perfectly secure. A self-hosted MediaHub's security also depends on the operator's installation, network, updates, configuration and access controls.
Changes and contact
We may update this notice as the service changes. The current version and update date appear on this page. Contact: [Owner must provide: verified contact details].
